Why Organic Cotton?
Live with Love is both our company name and our philosophy. We use certified organically grown cotton to make our clothing because sustainable, environmentally friendly fabric is both good for you and good for the planet.
Organic cotton is good for you! It is free of both the toxic pesticides (insecticides, herbicides and fungicides) used to grow conventional cotton as well as toxic manufacturing agents (chemicals, oils and waxes) used to produce conventional cotton clothing. Live with Love uses organic cotton because eliminating the toxins found in conventional cotton clothing means removing a common cause of chemical sensitivities for children and adults alike.
Organic cotton is good for the planet! Conventionally produced cotton represents only 2.4% of all cultivated land but accounts for 25% of the planets pesticide usage. Put another way, if all cotton in the world were organically grown, we would eliminate the use of over 1 billion pounds of toxic pesticides per year! Live with Love uses organic cotton because it will help to improve the planet by improving the health of the soil, ground water, wildlife, domestic animals, farm-workers and entire communities that depend on agriculture for their livelihood.
